Michael W. Wright is the CEO of Intercepting Horizons, primarily acting as lead Board, Strategy, and Governance,Advisor for Intercepting Horizons. Michael started out in the Central Valley and Northern Coast of California, working on the family farms and later in the early development of the natural foods industry. He transitioned to technology and became an esteemed high-technology executive, building a distinguished 30-year career at the helm of both public and private companies across a diverse range of platform industries. 

Throughout his career, Wright has held prominent leadership roles, such as CEO, COO, GM, and Sr. VP, in industries including filtration, cost modeling and capacity software, A&E design/build, instrumentation, IoT, semiconductor equipment and materials, digital transformation, consumer goods, ag-tech, and natural foods. As a strategic leader, he has served on public, private, and non-profit boards, demonstrating a keen understanding of global operations and strategy.

As an adjunct professor at the Carlson MBA program, Wright has shared his insights through teaching Strategic Leadership. In addition to over 35 mergers and acquisitions, Wright has published more than 40 papers on technology and business and authored acclaimed books such as The New Business Normal (2005) and The Exponential Era (2021). 

Now, Wright leverages his wealth of experience to advise and participate on boards, mentor, and coach emerging talent, and assist C-suite management teams in identifying converging technologies on the horizon giving rise to redefined and new business ecosystems. As the business landscape continues to evolve, Michael’s expertise in both operations and strategy on a global scale positions him as an invaluable resource for the next generation of executives seeking to navigate the complex intersection of technology, innovation, and market dynamics.
